MiniCo’s Lawyers Professional Liability program provides admitted and non-admitted coverage for attorneys providing professional legal services. Our experienced, knowledgeable staff provides responsive customer service and customized coverage to meet the needs of each policyholder.

Target Classes

Lawyers Professional Liability
  • 1-25 attorneys with a minimum of one full-time attorney
  • Minimum of three years of experience
  • No coverage for employed attorneys
Non-Admitted Lawyers Professional Liability (for harder-to-place risks)
  • Firms with difficult AOPs to include:
  • Environmental
  • Intellectual property (no patent prosecution)
  • Oil and gas
  • Plaintiff including class action
  • Real estate
  • SEC private placement (no public SEC exposure)
  • Adverse claim history
  • Declined or ineligible for the admitted marketplace

  • Available in AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, MA, MD, MI, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TX, UT, and WA
  • Ability to quote from competitor’s full application
  • Various claim expense options – Claims Expense Outside, Partial Claims Expense Outside, Defense Within
  • Broad definition of professional legal services including notary public, title insurance agent, and publication or presentation of research papers or similar materials
  • Coverage provided for independent contractors and “of counsel”
  • Disciplinary proceedings
  • Loss of earnings
  • Privacy breach response

Non-Admitted Program

  • Available in all states
  • Ability to process surplus lines filings
  • Ability to quote from competitor’s full application
  • Broad definition of legal services including lawyer, arbiter, mediator, expert witness, title agent, notary public, lobbyist, and publication or presentation of research papers or similar materials
  • Claims made and reported, pay on behalf, and duty to defend policy form
  • Coverage provided for independent contractors and “of counsel”
  • Crisis event expense
  • Disciplinary proceedings
  • Extended reporting options for 1, 2, 3, and 5 years; no cost extended reporting for death, disability, or retirement
  • Loss of earnings
  • Minimum deductible $5,000
